I don't know how I stumbled across your blog, but was happy to see the faces of many teachers I had as a student at Grant.
Pass this message on to Gert Wossner....
He was the best teacher I had! He was my teacher from 1985 - 1987. My friends (who also had him) and I still talk about him and the way he made us think of things differently in life. He instilled a love of reading and discovery in me.
I hope he, and all of you, are doing well!

I happened on this site as well. Gert Wossner - or Mr. Wossner as I still feel more comfortable calling him - was an incredible inspiration to me. And Mr. Benveniste was also an absolute joy as a teacher. They were by far my two favorite teachers at Grant - but as literature became my life and my profession ... it is impossible for me to overstate the importance of Mr. Wossner to me in terms of my own growth and development.
So - please - deliver my thanks. And let him know that his inquisitive mind and his good work echoes on and on - in all who had the luck to encounter it...

Wow! What fantastic pictures. I remember Mr. Kazie as I had him for history. Never had Mr. Westervelt, but remember him well. Ms. Heinsohn was the drill team coach. Judy (will remember the last name when I am not thinking about it later)was my history teacher at Millikan. Mr. Benveniste was a speaker at Laguna Woods recently, but I was unable to attend. Would have been fun to see him.
